Trial operation of the waste treatment plant in Tan Ky.
The Tan Ky waste treatment plant, worth over 160 billion VND, has just been completed and is currently undergoing trial operation. Residents in the district have been eagerly awaiting this project for many years.
For many years, Tan Ky district has lacked a standard waste treatment plant, so residents have regularly dumped thousands of cubic meters of waste into the Thung 70 area of Tan Long commune, Tan Ky district.3Due to the lack of proper treatment over a long period, the amount of waste has been increasing. During rainy weather, water from the waste area flows into streams and creeks, causing environmental pollution. The issue of waste and environmental pollution has been a source of great concern for the people for many years.

In response to this situation, in 2023, the Tan Ky waste treatment plant was invested in and built in the Thung 70 area of Tan Long commune, covering an area of over 3.3 hectares, worth over 160 billion VND.
Mr. Dang Huu Be, Director of Tan Ky Waste Treatment Plant, said: After construction was completed in September 2024, the plant was allowed by the authorities to conduct a 6-month trial operation to test the technical process, operation, and solid waste and industrial waste treatment system before officially commencing operations.
To effectively manage waste in Tan Ky district, the Tan Ky District People's Committee recently issued a document on household waste collection, requesting communes and towns to strengthen propaganda efforts and develop plans and methods for sorting, collecting, and transporting solid household waste in their areas. They are also required to review, inspect, and monitor the collection and transportation of solid household waste to ensure compliance with regulations regarding time and location.
Regarding the waste treatment plant, the district requires it to proactively develop plans and methods to coordinate with the People's Committees of communes and towns to organize the collection and transportation of solid household waste in accordance with regulations.
Regarding waste already collected at the Thung 70 landfill in Tan Long commune, the plant will coordinate with Tan Long commune to develop a plan and method for collection and treatment during the trial operation period, ensuring that it does not affect the waste collection activities of units and localities in the district.
Mr. Phan Van Giap, Chairman of the Tan Ky District People's Committee, stated: The official operation of the Tan Ky Waste Treatment Plant will meet the needs for solid and liquid waste treatment for residents and organizations, production and business establishments in the district. It will contribute to protecting and reducing environmental pollution, and improving the quality of life for people in the district.
