The South Korean presidential office purchased hundreds of Viagra pills.
The South Korean presidential office was forced to issue an explanation after purchasing a large quantity of Viagra and other sexual enhancement drugs.
According toRTOn November 23, a member of a South Korean opposition party revealed that President Park Geun-hye's office had purchased 360 pills last year that could treat erectile dysfunction, including Viagra.
The South Korean presidential office later explained that the purchase of the medication was intended to alleviate President Park's altitude sickness symptoms during her visits to several high-altitude African countries such as Ethiopia, Uganda, and Kenya.

President Park's office asserted that although they purchased a large quantity of Viagra, it was not used.
"We bought it for the trip but didn't use it," spokesperson Jung Youn-Kuk said, adding that the medicine is effective in treating altitude sickness.
In addition, in recent years, Park's office has also purchased hundreds of doses of vitamins and supplements, commonly used for detoxification and anti-aging. Jung said these medications were purchased for staff at the presidential office, including Park's bodyguards.
The incident once again stirred up media attention following the political scandal involving President Park and her close friend Choi Soon-sil, which was exposed.
South Korean President Park Geun-hye has been under immense pressure recently after her decades-long relationship with her close friend Choi Soon-sil, as well as with Choi's father, the founder of a religious sect, was revealed.
President Park Geun-hye is under investigation for her role in the scandal involving Choi. Meanwhile, opposition parties are preparing actions to impeach the president.
Since the scandal broke, hundreds of thousands of people have taken to the streets to protest, demanding Park's resignation.
