Each SJC gold bar fell by hundreds of thousands of dong at the opening, while the exchange rate also continued to cool down.

At the start of the day, DOJI Gold and Gemstone Company quoted SJC gold bars at 36.15 - 36.35 million VND. This represents a decrease of 50,000 VND per tael for the buying price and 100,000 VND for the selling price. Domestic gold prices fell sharply this morning, influenced by the downward trend in the global market last night. However, the price difference between domestic and international gold remains at over 4.4 million VND per tael.

Gold prices fell as the dollar strengthened sharply again, rising more than 1.6% to 101.14 points. The price dropped significantly during the Asian trading session. At 9:00 AM (Hanoi time), each ounce of gold was trading close to $1,165.

In addition, yesterday the European Central Bank decided to keep interest rates on the euro unchanged. This caused the euro's value to fall sharply. Conversely, the dollar received further support, rising strongly and putting significant pressure on gold prices.

In the foreign exchange marketThe exchange rate continued to cool down after the State Bank of Vietnam signaled its readiness to intervene in the market. At Vietcombank, one US dollar was bought and sold at 22,610 - 22,690 VND, a further decrease of 10 VND compared to the morning of December 9th.

The heat has also subsided in the free market. The buying and selling price of the US dollar at foreign exchange bureaus has fallen to 23,130 - 23,160 VND per dollar this morning.
