Global gasoline and oil prices continue their downward trend.
PricegasolineToday (January 2, 2024), the international market is forecast to continue the downward trend from last week, with no positive signs yet. At the end of the final trading week of 2023, world oil prices closed in the red after two weeks of gains.
Specifically, WTI crude oil prices ended the week at $71.65 per barrel, down 2.6% from the previous week. Brent crude oil prices also fell 2.23%, to $77.04 per barrel.

The main reason for the drop in oil prices last week was the easing of tensions in the Red Sea, reducing supply disruptions. Several shipping companies have begun resuming operations in the area after the US deployed a multinational military operation to deter Houthi attacks and ensure the safety of cargo ships.
In addition, the stable oil supply from Russia, the world's third-largest producer after the US and Saudi Arabia, has also contributed to the decline in oil prices.
Meanwhile, oil demand shows no signs of improvement. International organizations have a rather pessimistic outlook on global oil demand, at least for the first half of this year.
The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) forecasts global oil demand in 2024 to increase by 2.2 million barrels per day, reaching 104.4 million barrels per day.
