Authorities raided a group gambling with dice at a farm.

On November 15, 2021, the Dien Chau District Police (Nghe An province) announced that they are currently holding eight individuals residing in the district under criminal detention for gambling offenses.

Earlier, at approximately 8 PM on November 12, 2021, at the farm of Cao Trong Tai (born in 1986) in the Xuan Duong dam area, Dien Phu commune, Dien Chau district, the district police discovered 10 individuals engaging in gambling activities.xóc đĩa (a Vietnamese gambling game).

When surrounded by police, many suspects fled into the forest to hide. Dien Chau police arrested two suspects on the spot: Nguyen Nhu Binh (born in 1982), residing in Dien Loi commune, and Phan Huy Thanh (born in 1990), residing in Dien Loc commune. At the scene, police seized 11 mobile phones, nearly 21 million VND in cash, and other related evidence.

Expanding the investigation, the police force clarified and apprehended six more individuals involved in gambling, including: Hoang Cuong (born 1995), Nguyen Van An (born 1992), Hoang Huu Thien (born 1995), Hoang Khac Quang (born 1982), Cao Bang (born 1990), all residing in Dien Phu commune, and Hoang Van An (born 1990) residing in Dien Loi commune; simultaneously, they proved that the amount of money used by the suspects for gambling was 47 million VND.

During the investigation, the Dien Chau District Police determined that, taking advantage of the hilly terrain, the suspects used boats to cross the Xuan Duong dam to reach Cao Trong Tai's farm to organize gambling activities.

Currently, the Dien Chau District Police are holding the aforementioned 8 individuals in custody on charges of gambling; at the same time, they are organizing a manhunt for the remaining individuals to conduct investigations and handle the case according to the law.
