The stunning beauty of a grain of sand.
Sand is a granular material (0.07 ~ 2 mm in diameter) formed from fractured rocks, washed away by rainwater, eroded, or crushed by humans.
Sand comes in many types, including: river sand, sea sand, yellow sand, natural mineral sand… The main component of river sand is Silicon Dioxide (also known as Silica SiO2).
Dr. Gary Greenberg put grains of sand (from the Hawaiian sea) under a microscope, magnified them 300 times, and took photographs that surprised and delighted us.
One should not underestimate the hidden beauty of a tiny grain of sand. Aren't we all just tiny grains of sand?
