The most expensive plane ticket in the world costs 1.8 billion VND

According to Russia Today, customers who buy this luxury ticket will stay in a three-room luxury area on the Airbus A380, called “The Residence”. Etihad describes the plane as a “flat-roof apartment in the sky”, with all the amenities of a five-star hotel.

Stepping into the 11-square-metre special suite, passengers can choose to sleep alone or in pairs and are served by specially trained butlers and chefs. The suite is equipped with a bathroom and a flat double bed, instead of the usual cramped airline seats.

The living room has a 32-inch flat-screen TV, two fold-out dining tables and a double sofa. Travelers flying from London to Melbourne will stop in Abu Dhabi, where they will have access to a first-class lounge. Each Etihad A380 flight has a nanny trained at Norland School in the UK.

The $80,000 ticket price includes private airport transfers, VIP check-in, a luxury lounge, and assistance with booking tickets to a sporting event, concert, or restaurant. It is about $4,500 more expensive than the previous most expensive ticket, a round-trip ticket from New York (USA) to Mumbai (India), also on “The Residence.”

“The Residence” was launched by Etihad in late 2014, when the airline refurbished its business class area as well as upgraded its economy class seating.
