During the resistance war against the US, Truong Bon was a key point on the strategic route to support the great frontline in the South. Here, under the rain of bombs and bullets, the army and people of Nghe An with the spirit of "living to cling to the bridge, cling to the road; dying steadfastly and bravely" still maintained the traffic flow for convoys and troops to the frontline. There were 1,240 outstanding sons of the army, police, youth volunteers, and frontline laborers who died. Notably, on October 31, 1968, 13 Youth Volunteers of Squad 2 - "Steel Squad" of Company 317, Team 65, Nghe An Youth Volunteers General Team heroically sacrificed their lives. Today, Truong Bon has been built into a spacious historical relic site, a place for people from all over the country to visit and commemorate. Photo: Huy Thu
