After approximately four years of discontinuing LX production, the Italian manufacturer unexpectedly brought the model back to the market with a completely new version, using the iGet engine currently equipped on Piaggio's other models.

In addition to the standard version, Piaggio also introduced limited edition Vespa LX iGet 125 models, including bi-color (white/coral red), lime yellow, and black versions.

In this return, the new Vespa LX features a major change in its iGet engine, meeting Euro 3 standards, optimizing performance and reducing running costs. The iGet engine is currently used in Piaggio's Liberty, Vespa Primavera, and Medley models.

The 2017 Vespa LX's engine is a 125cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected unit, producing 7.6 kW of power at 7,600 rpm and a maximum torque of 10.2 Nm at 6,000 rpm. According to the manufacturer, this model achieves a fuel consumption of approximately 60 km/liter at an average speed of 50 km/h. A new exhaust system helps the engine run more smoothly and reduces noise.

Besides the standard version, Piaggio Vietnam also introduced a special edition LX iGet 125, with the message "not for the masses," emphasizing that the product is for those who appreciate uniqueness.

Aside from the engine changes, the new Vespa LX retains its traditional, classic lines. Piaggio's design team focused on the tie-like detail on the front fairing, giving the Vespa its distinctive look.
