A one-of-a-kind eggshell-encrusted Vespa Primavera was put up for sale at a charity auction in Hanoi. According to a representative of Piaggio Vietnam, the scooter was purchased by an individual for $19,000. This money will be used to fund surgeries for Vietnamese children with craniofacial deformities.
Primavera eggshell inlay is a unique combination of a product deeply rooted in Italian culture and traditional Vietnamese lacquer techniques.
Hanoia's skilled lacquer artisans in Binh Duong worked continuously for over two months just to complete the bodywork of this Vespa Primavera.
The scooter's soft pastel blue exterior is made up of millions of eggshell fragments, paints, dyes, and six layers of clear coat. Therefore, the finished product has a very unique beauty, unlike any other Piaggio paint job, even though the Italian manufacturer is famous for creating unique vehicle paint colors.
The Vespa Primavera ABS used to create this unique model has no differences in specifications compared to the standard versions. It still uses the latest 125cc iGet engine and is equipped with an ABS anti-lock braking system. This is a very useful safety feature, only found on a few scooters in Vietnam (mainly Piaggio models).
