VFF received 2 nominations for 2017 Asian football awards

According to the latest information from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has been honored to receive two nominations in the shortlist of annual awards for Asian football in 2017.

Accordingly, with outstanding achievements in the continental arena as one of the few national federations with 6 teams qualifying for the finals of Asian tournaments as well as through successfully hosting important Asian football events such as the finals of the Asian Futsal Club Championship, the Asian Cup Women's Qualifiers, the Asian U23 Qualifiers, the Asian Futsal Qualifiers... VFF has received high appreciation from AFC and for the third consecutive time been nominated for the Member Football Federation of the Year Award (Development category).

In addition, VFF also continued to receive nominations for the AFC President's Award recognizing member football federations with developed grassroots football. This can be seen as a recognition of VFF's efforts in supporting, coordinating and organizing tournaments and events of grassroots football, thereby contributing to spreading the sports training movement and love of football among young people. In particular, over the past year, VFF also maintained close coordination with the Community Football Project in Vietnam (FFAV) in the plan to replicate the model and the values ​​that FFAV created in developing grassroots football in Vietnam. Previously, in July 2017, the FFAV Project was also honored to receive the 'Dream Asia Award' from AFC for the second time.

The 2017 Asian Football Annual Awards Ceremony will be held in Bangkok (Thailand) on November 29.

At the regional level, last September, Vietnamese football was honored to receive 5 awards at the AFF Awards 2017 including: Best Football Federation Award of the Year, Best Women's Football Coach of the Year (Coach Mai Duc Chung), Best Young Player of the Year Award (Doan Van Hau), midfielder Nguyen Trong Hoang was voted into the list of 11 typical players of AFF and Female Assistant Referee Truong Thi Le Trinh won the award for Best Female Assistant Referee of the Year.
