Accordingly, with outstanding achievements on the continental stage, being one of the few national federations with 6 teams qualifying for the Asian Championships finals, as well as successfully hosting important Asian football events such as the Asian Futsal Club Championship finals, the Women's Asian Cup qualifiers, the U23 Asian Championship qualifiers, and the Asian Futsal Championship qualifiers, the VFF has received high praise from the AFC and has been nominated for the Member Football Federation of the Year Award (Development category) for the third consecutive time.
Furthermore, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) also received a nomination for the AFC President's Award recognizing its role as a member federation with a thriving grassroots football scene. This can be seen as recognition of the VFF's efforts in supporting, coordinating, and organizing grassroots football tournaments and events, thereby contributing to the spread of sports training and a love of football among young people. In particular, over the past year, the VFF has maintained close cooperation with the Football for All in Vietnam (FFAV) project in its plan to replicate the model and values that FFAV has created in developing grassroots football in Vietnam. Previously, in July 2017, the FFAV project was honored for the second time with the AFC's 'Dream Asia Award'.
The announcement and presentation ceremony for the 2017 annual Asian Football Awards will be held in Bangkok, Thailand, on November 29th.
| At the regional level, last September, Vietnamese football was honored with 5 awards at the AFF Awards 2017, including: Best Football Federation of the Year, Best Women's Football Coach of the Year (Coach Mai Duc Chung), Best Young Player of the Year (Doan Van Hau), midfielder Nguyen Trong Hoang was selected for the AFF's All-Star XI, and female assistant referee Truong Thi Le Trinh won the Best Female Assistant Referee of the Year award. |
