The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) held a thank-you party for coach Park Hang-seo.

The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) held a farewell ceremony last night (February 8th) for head coach Park Hang-seo and assistant Lee Young-jin after their five-year partnership ended.

Leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism believe that coach Park Hang Seo is an inspiring leader who has led Vietnamese football into history with many victories.

At the event,coach Park Hang-seoHe was honored to receive a Certificate of Merit from Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and a Certificate of Merit from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism recognizing the great contributions of the South Korean strategist during his 5 years as head coach of the Vietnam National Team and U23 Team.

Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung shared: "During his five years with the team, coach Park Hang Seo led Vietnamese football from one victory to another. He is the one who inspired leadership and led Vietnamese football into history. I think that his humility, his ability to inspire, and his scientific tactics will be valuable experience for those involved in Vietnamese football in the future."

Coach Park Hang-seo and his close assistant Lee Young-jin have helped Vietnamese football make continuous progress and climb the FIFA rankings, with the national team consistently leading Southeast Asia, reaching the top 16 in Asia and the top 100 in the world.

Park's memorable achievements include finishing as runners-up in the 2018 AFC U23 Championship, winning the 2018 AFF Championship, reaching the quarterfinals of the 2019 Asian Cup, and winning the gold medal in men's football at the SEA Games twice in a row. Furthermore, the most outstanding milestone was the Vietnamese national team's first-ever qualification for the final round of the World Cup qualifiers in the Asian region.

Speaking at the appreciation party, coach Park Hang-seo said: "Throughout my five years with Vietnamese football, I have always worked hard and strived to achieve the best results. However, shortcomings are unavoidable. Actually, it's not easy for a Korean to come to another country like Vietnam to live and work comfortably. But thanks to the help I received, I had favorable conditions throughout my five years of work."

"I deeply regret not being able to achieve even greater success with Vietnamese football. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the Vietnamese football clubs for sending us such wonderful players who contributed to the national team. I also thank the players for their dedication, and the coaching staff, both Vietnamese and Korean, who have always been supportive and offered many innovative ideas that led to this success. Five years have come to an end, but I will never forget the memories I shared with the players," Mr. Park shared.

On behalf of the VFF, President Tran Quoc Tuan wished coach Park Hang Seo and his family good health and happiness, and expressed his hope that they would continue to contribute to maintaining and strengthening the good friendship between Vietnam and South Korea. The VFF also expressed confidence that coach Park Hang Seo would continue to make positive contributions to Vietnamese football through the projects and initiatives he is planning to implement in the future.

Mr. Tuan emphasized that the VFF will always welcome him with open arms, like welcoming a family member back home.
