The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has just announced the list of referees for the match between SHB Da Nang and HAGL.
The VFF referee committee has assigned Mr. Tran Dinh Thinh to officiate the match between HAGL and SHB Da Nang in Round 23 of the V.League. The two assistant referees are Mr. Pham Hoai Tam and Mr. Pham Ha Minh. Mr. Tran Ngoc Anh will serve as the fourth official. Three days ago, SHB Da Nang Football Club sent a letter to the VPF and VFF requesting that a foreign referee be assigned to officiate the match against HAGL. The team from the banks of the Han River argued that this is an important match, with particularly significant implications for the outcome of the season. Therefore, having a foreign referee would ensure the transparency of the match.
Subsequently, HAGL sent a letter supporting Da Nang's decision and expressed their willingness to cover all fees for hiring a foreign referee.
Ultimately, the VFF Referee Committee still assigned a domestic referee to officiate the match. Even more noteworthy is that Mr. Tran Dinh Thinh had previously made several serious mistakes. In the match between Ho Chi Minh City and Thanh Hoa last season, Mr. Thinh denied Thanh Hoa two legitimate penalties, causing them to lose the victory against the home team.
