Because the marine environment of Cua Lo is green, clean, and beautiful.
On the morning of April 18th, at Binh Minh Square, the Party Committee and government of Cua Lo ward organized a launching ceremony for a green, clean, and beautiful marine environment, aiming towards the 2026 beach tourism season and preparing for the Cua Lo Tourism Festival with the theme "The Call of the Sea in All Four Seasons".

Determined to maintain the brand of "ASEAN Clean Tourism City"
The launching ceremony is considered the opening activity for the 2026 Cua Lo beach tourism season, and also reaffirms the determination to maintain and promote the brand of "ASEAN Clean Tourism City 2026" – a title honored by the Southeast Asia Tourism Forum (ATF 2026) held in Cebu City (Philippines). This is not only a source of pride but also places higher demands on responsibility for environmental protection and building the image of a civilized, friendly, and sustainable destination.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Cua Lo Ward, emphasized: Protecting the marine environment is no longer solely the responsibility of state management agencies, but must become a voluntary action of the entire community. A green, clean, and beautiful environment is a crucial foundation for long-term tourism economic development, improving service quality, and enhancing the competitiveness of the coastal city.
At the launching ceremony, Cua Lo ward called on all departments, agencies, organizations, businesses, and the entire population to raise awareness and strictly implement the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws on environmental protection, marine resource management, proactively responding to climate change, and controlling environmental pollution. Environmental protection must be considered an inseparable part of socio-economic development and tourism development plans.

Accordingly, the locality will strengthen monitoring and assessment of environmental quality changes; strictly control sources of pollution; ensure that generated waste is collected and treated in accordance with national technical standards, and resolutely handle acts of polluting discharge.
One of the key tasks set out is to strengthen the management and protection of the marine and coastal environment. Cua Lo Ward continues to improve the quality of the marine environment, prevent resource degradation, conserve marine biodiversity; minimize plastic waste; prioritize investment in and upgrading of wastewater collection and treatment systems; promote sustainable aquaculture activities, linking the protection of marine resources with the long-term development of livelihoods for the people.

Every official and citizen is an "environmental ambassador".
In parallel, Cua Lo ward focuses on propaganda and education to raise community awareness, requiring each official, Party member, and citizen to be an "environmental ambassador" to spread awareness through concrete actions such as maintaining beach hygiene, not littering, using environmentally friendly products, and complying with regulations on protecting the urban landscape of the tourist area.

Along with that, actively participating in movements such as "Green Sunday," combating plastic waste, implementing waste sorting at source, and limiting and eventually eliminating non-biodegradable plastic bags and single-use plastic items is considered a crucial step from a movement to a civilized habit in the urban life of the coastal city.

For the business community, especially accommodation establishments, restaurants, and tourism services, the local authorities require full compliance with legal regulations on wastewater and waste collection and treatment; efficient use of water resources; and a focus on developing a green economy, circular economy, and environmentally responsible tourism.

As part of the launching ceremony, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province and the Provincial Environmental Protection Department presented trash containers to Cua Lo ward.
Immediately after the launching ceremony, hundreds of officials, youth union members, armed forces personnel, members of political and social organizations, and local people simultaneously mobilized to collect waste along the beach, forest park, and coastal roads, creating a vibrant atmosphere to kick off the new tourist season.

This year's marine environmental protection campaign not only aims to clean up the landscape before the tourist season but also reflects a new approach by Cua Lo city: developing tourism based on sustainable ecology, with the environment as a core competitive advantage.

With the determination of the Party Committee and the government, and the unity of the people, Cua Lo is gradually building the image of a modern, civilized, and friendly tourist city – where every clean beach, every green road, and every smile of tourists contributes to spreading the brand of Nghe An's beaches in the journey of sustainable development.
