Why does VinFast offer free electric vehicle charging until mid-2027?
Vietnamese electric car maker VinFast will allow users of its electric cars to charge their batteries for free at V-Green charging stations nationwide from now until June 30, 2027.
The free battery charging policy, which will last for 2.5 years, will apply to all customers who are using and will use VinFast electric vehicles. This includes companies that provide electric vehicle transportation services, including Xanh SM, which will be exempted from 100% of battery charging costs from 10pm to 6am, and the remaining time slots will be reduced by 50% of the unit price, lasting until June 30, 2027.
VinFast said that this policy is for transport businesses to help partners optimize charging station performance during off-peak hours. Thereby, they can distribute the number of charging vehicles at the same time more evenly and reasonably, thereby improving business efficiency.

Meanwhile, individual customers who buy VinFast electric cars can save a significant amount of usage costs. In particular, customers who buy cars with batteries will be able to use the car with "0 fuel costs" for the next 2 years.
Mr. Quang Anh, an expert in the automotive field, commented: "The above move by VinFast not only simply supports users but also brings multi-faceted impacts to the market, not only helping the company increase sales but also consolidating market share sustainably."
VinFast’s policy of free battery charging for more than 2 years is both a customer care action and a smart strategic move, having an oil spill impact on the automobile industry in Vietnam. With its vision and bold move, VinFast is demonstrating how electric vehicles will change the game quickly and fiercely, different from the traditional gasoline car model, the expert added.
Currently, the charging station system is being developed and managed by V-Green Company. This company also has about 150,000 charging ports in all 63 provinces and cities across the country. In parallel with the genuine charging stations directly invested by V-Green, the implementation of the franchise charging station model will help this unit to meet the rapid growth rate of the Vietnamese electric car company.
According to the latest announcement from VinFast, more than 67,000 electric vehicles of all kinds have been delivered to the market in the past 11 months of 2024. Along with a large number of orders waiting for delivery, the title of best-selling car company in the Vietnamese market this year will be difficult to escape from VinFast's hands.
