The Vinh City government plans to partially renovate the sidewalks of four streets – Le Mao, Ho Tung Mau, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, and Le Hong Phong – to create dispersed parking areas.
For Le Mao Street (with a 9m wide sidewalk), the construction area is the sidewalk in front of the Vinh City Tax Department to the entrance of the Vinh City Convention Center, with a length of 165m; the width of the car parking area is 3m from the edge of the road inwards, with cars parked along the direction of traffic, and the width of the pedestrian walkway is 6m.

Ho Tung Mau Street (10.5m wide sidewalk), construction scope: From Vuong Thuc Mau Street to Nguyen Trung Ngan Street (in front of Quan Lau Market area). The construction scale is 120m in length; the outer row of trees will be preserved, the sidewalk from the curb inwards will be 2.5-3m to create a pedestrian walkway, the inner sidewalk will be lowered to create a parking lane 5.0-5.5m wide, and the remaining sidewalk adjacent to the red line (2-2.5m) will be used for parking motorcycles.
In Vinh City, land available for constructing parking lots is very limited. Many vehicle owners, lacking designated parking spaces, are forced to park in areas without designated parking zones, causing traffic congestion, safety hazards, and negatively impacting urban aesthetics. Therefore, the city government's initiative to pilot the renovation of sidewalks and the creation of dispersed parking areas is a practical and highly feasible solution.

Recently, the Vinh City authorities renovated the parking lot on Cao Thang Street (the road leading to Vinh Market). After the renovation, vehicles needing to park now have a neat and convenient parking space, creating a more civilized urban environment and reducing traffic congestion and chaos.
Therefore, the renovation of sidewalks in Vinh City has been welcomed by car owners as well as the general public.
