| Manager Wenger is under immense pressure due to Arsenal's poor performance. |
Following Arsenal's dismal run of results in both the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League (six losses and only two wins in their last eight matches), the backlash against the French manager is reaching unprecedented levels. From fan slogans to internal conflicts among players, everyone seems to be turning against Arsene Wenger.
Amidst the tense situation at his former club, former midfielder Patrick Vieira has spoken out in defense of his former manager.
“He’s going through a very difficult time at Emirates. A string of defeats and disagreements with some players are wearing him down. Arsenal players should know where they stand and work with the manager to turn the team around.”
Arsenal players must respect the manager and fight hard for the fans, instead of creating more scandals that lead to disunity and negatively impact the team's performance. In my opinion, this deplorable situation is partly due to the players themselves ruining Wenger's playing style,” Vieira said on Sky Sports.
Regarding rumors of Wenger's departure at the end of the season, the New York City (MLS) manager commented: "For now, he will try to improve Arsenal's situation. I have no opinion on whether he should stay or leave after his contract expires because he has enough experience and character to decide his future. However, I know that with his skill, passion, and love for coaching, he can absolutely succeed anywhere."
