On the evening of March 5th (Vietnam time), Forbes magazine announced its 2019 list of the world's billionaires. This year, Vietnam has five USD billionaires on the list.

Leading the list of Vietnam's USD billionaires is still Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong - Chairman of Vingroup - with a total net worth of $6.6 billion as recorded by Forbes. Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong is ranked 239th richest person in the world, a jump of 260 places compared to the list published a year ago.

Pham Nhat Vuong's net worth also increased by $2.3 billion compared to the previous year after Vingroup listed Vinhomes Joint Stock Company shares on the stock exchange and the group's VIC share price continued to rise. Vuong was first recognized as a billionaire by Forbes in 2013 with a net worth of $1.5 billion and has consistently topped the list of the richest people in Vietnam.
