Vietnam welcomes nearly 14 million international visitors in 8 months

According to the General Statistics Office, favorable visa policies, enhanced tourism promotion programs, and activities to celebrate major national holidays have attracted an increasing number of international visitors to Vietnam.

Specifically, in August 2025, international visitors to our country reached 1.68 million arrivals, up 7.8% over the previous month and up 16.5% over the same period last year.

In the first 8 months of 2025, international visitors to Vietnam reached 13.9 million, an increase of 21.7% over the same period last year.

Of which, arrivals by air reached 11.9 million, accounting for 85.2% of international arrivals and increasing by 22.6% over the same period last year; by road reached 1.9 million, accounting for 13.4% and increasing by 17.5%; by sea reached 187.8 thousand, accounting for 1.4% and increasing by 13.4%.

According to the report, tourism revenue in the first 8 months of 2025 is estimated at 61.2 trillion VND, accounting for 1.3% of the total and increasing by 20.3% over the same period last year. Revenue in the first 8 months of 2025 compared to the same period last year of some localities is as follows: Ho Chi Minh City increased by 24.0%; Hanoi increased by 20.9%; Vinh Long increased by 19.8%; Quang Tri increased by 18.0%; Quang Ninh increased by 17.2%.

In addition, the culture, entertainment and tourism group increased by 0.08%, mainly concentrated in the following groups: Hotel and guest house prices increased by 1.79%; sports venue rental tickets increased by 0.19%; foreign tourism services increased by 0.09%; watching movies and music increased by 0.04%. On the contrary, domestic tourism decreased by 0.15% due to travel companies implementing discount promotions to stimulate consumption./.
