According to Mr. Dang Vu Tuan Son, Chairman of the Vietnam Young Astronomy Association, viewers should look to the eastern sky, where the constellation Aquarius is located - the center of the meteor shower.
"The observation time corresponds to the time of the last crescent moon of the lunar month, so Eta Auquarids may be partially obscured by moonlight," Mr. Son noted and advised viewers to just use their naked eyes and wait patiently.
The meteor shower originates from the famous comet 1P/Halley. The comet leaves behind debris along its path, forming long streaks of meteors. Every year when the Earth crosses the comet's path, the meteors hit the Earth's atmosphere and burn up.
