Vietnam concludes the 29th SEA Games with a bronze medal in weightlifting.

Hoang Tan Tai's bronze medal in the 85 kg weightlifting category was Vietnam's final event at this year's Southeast Asian Games.

In the competition held on the afternoon of August 30th, Hoang Tan Tai achieved a total lift of 322 kg, including 145 kg in the snatch and 177 kg in the clean and jerk.

Thai weightlifter Pornchai Lobsi won the gold medal with a total lift of 337 kg and set a new clean and jerk record of 191 kg (the previous record was 190 kg).Home athlete Fazrul Azrie finished fourth in the snatch but brilliantly lifted 182 kg in the clean and jerk to surpass Tan Tai and win the silver medal with a total lift of 323 kg.

Tan Tai brought home the final medal for the Vietnamese delegation at the 29th SEA Games. At the end of the competition, Vietnamese athletes won 58 gold medals, 50 silver medals, and 60 bronze medals.

Vietnam is likely to be overtaken by Singapore for third place overall today. Singapore is only one gold medal behind, but still has many events left in its strong sport, figure skating.

At the 29th SEA Games, the Vietnamese sports delegation set a target of 49-59 gold medals. The biggest contributions came from athletics (17 gold medals) and swimming (10 gold medals).
