The English version of the eighth Harry Potter book, titled "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child," was released to Vietnamese readers simultaneously with the rest of the world on the morning of July 31st.

On July 31st – the birthday of author J.K. Rowling – the book Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was simultaneously released on bookshelves in many countries, including Vietnam.

According to the author, the eighth installment of the series is a book version of the two-part play of the same name. The play is set 19 years after Harry and his friends defeated Voldemort and saved the wizarding world in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. The main focus of the eighth installment is on Harry Potter – now a grown father of three – and his youngest son, Albus. The moment when the past and present merge is also when Harry and his son realize that evil can appear in unexpected places.

The English version of "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" was released in Vietnam simultaneously with the rest of the world. The book is a printed version of the two-part play of the same name.

Despite being the "mother" of the seven famous Harry Potter books, author J.K. Rowling stated that she did not directly write the script for the eighth installment. He has extensive experience in screenwriting and playwriting.

The play premiered on July 30th at the Palace Theatre in London, England, to a warm reception from fans.

The Harry Potter series tells the story of the adventures of Harry Potter and his friends, including Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger, in the wizarding world at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. These adventures center on Harry Potter's fight against the Dark Lord Voldemort, who aspires to immortality, dominate the wizarding world, enslave non-magical people, and destroy anyone who stands in his way, especially Harry Potter.

By June 2011, the seven-book Harry Potter series had sold over 450 million copies, becoming the best-selling book series in history and translated into 79 languages. The seventh book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, was published on July 21, 2007. Over 11 million copies of this book were sold in the first 24 hours. The series was successfully adapted into films by Warner Bros. The film Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone is among the studio's top four highest-grossing films.

JK Rowling, whose real name is Joanne "Jo" Rowling, is a British author born in 1965. Thanks to the resounding success of her Harry Potter fantasy novels, she has become the second wealthiest woman in the entertainment industry, after Oprah Winfrey. Her current estimated net worth is around £560 million (approximately over 19 trillion Vietnamese dong). This money mainly comes from royalties on her books, films, and merchandise related to the Harry Potter brand.
