| According to the Federal Agency for Military-Technical Cooperation of Russia, the country has begun delivering T-90S/SK tanks to its Vietnamese customer. "As a result of a series of negotiations between Russian and Vietnamese experts, a contract for the supply of T-90S and T-90SK tanks has been signed. Currently, the parties have begun implementing the contract," the agency stated. |

| Considered one of the world's leading tanks in terms of offensive and defensive capabilities, Vietnam's T-90 tanks are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and weapons. In terms of firepower, both versions of the Russian T-90 sold to Vietnam are equipped with a 125 mm 2A46 smoothbore cannon with an automatic loading system and a ready-to-use 22-round ammunition capacity. |

| In addition to the standard 2A46 ammunition, the T-90S can also fire AT-11 Sniper anti-tank missiles through its barrel to destroy enemy targets from a distance of up to 5,000 m, including tanks with explosive reactive armor and low-flying helicopters. |

| Notably, the Vietnamese versions of the T-90 tank are also equipped with a 12.7mm automatic machine gun system – a weapon system that Vietnam has successfully manufactured and tested. |

| The 12.7mm gun system can be deployed on various military vehicles such as ships and boats, using a remote control system combined with a target acquisition camera, displaying the live aiming line on the gun body onto the control screen for the shooter to aim and fire. |

| The barrel casing is grooved to increase cooling and fitted with a large recoil reducer. The gun's ammunition belt is quite unique, with one incendiary round inserted between every 5 or 3 armor-piercing rounds to guide the firing during nighttime or low-light conditions. |

| Incendiary rounds allow the shooter to observe the trajectory of the burst of bullets, enabling timely adjustments to the aiming point. This type of round also has the same lethal effect as armor-piercing rounds. 12.7 mm rounds can even penetrate 15 mm of steel at a distance of 500 m. |

| The rifle uses a gas-operated loading mechanism, with a rate of fire of 800 rounds per minute. The muzzle velocity is 845 m/s, and the effective range is 1.5 km for anti-aircraft defense and 2 km for ground attack.
