Vietnam 'sweeps' awards at ASEAN Cup 2024

At the ASEAN Cup 2024 awards ceremony, the organizing committee presented supplementary awards to individuals with the most outstanding performances in the tournament. And unsurprisingly, all three individual titles were awarded to players coached by Kim Sang Sik.

Specifically, the title of 'Best Goalkeeper of the Tournament' was awarded to Nguyen Dinh Trieu, who made significant contributions to Vietnam's journey to the top of Southeast Asia in this tournament.

In addition, striker Nguyen Xuan Son was honored with two awards: 'Top Scorer' of the ASEAN Cup 2024 and 'Best Player of the Tournament'. Unfortunately, in the second leg of the final, Xuan Son suffered an injury and had to leave the field early in the first half. There is currently no precise information about Son's injury, but if it is a broken leg, he could be out of action for 6 months to a year.
