Viet Trinh opens up about scandals involving wealthy lovers.

"I remember at that time, many people accused me, along with Phuoc and Giao, of defrauding others," Viet Trinh recounted.

In the next episode of the show "My First Story," Viet Trinh continues to open up about her scandals involving wealthy lovers who ended up in legal trouble, and the stories surrounding the image that audiences impose on artists.

- How did Viet Trinh feel when she was surrounded by scandal after her two wealthy lovers, Pham Huy Phuoc and Tran Van Giao, were arrested?

If I were guilty, I would do something about it, but at the time, I thought that eventually people would understand me.

I remember at that time, many people, even many articles, accused me along with Mr. Phuoc (the tycoon Pham Huy Phuoc – executed for causing the loss of hundreds of billions of state funds) and Mr. Giao (Tran Van Giao – currently serving a life sentence for land fraud) of defrauding others.

Eventually, everything came to light when the police completed their investigation.

To be honest, I was suffering so much at that time that I decided to turn to Buddhism to free my thoughts and lift my spirits.

It was only then that I understood how malicious and slanderous words could affect people.

In the entertainment industry, there are also people who commit suicide, dying because of scandals and controversies.

I came to Buddhism, which is why I was able to overcome it. I know the "karma" I'm carrying, and I'm trying to repay this karmic debt step by step, doing whatever good I can for the world.

Viet Trinh was involved in too many scandals due to her association with two wealthy businessmen, Pham Huy Phuoc and Tran Van Giao, who ended up in legal trouble.

- Actually, there's nothing terrible about it. I've noticed that every wealthy businessman who goes to prison is associated with some beautiful woman, and Viet Trinh is no exception.

I've seen this happen quite often, so I think the audience and the public should take it more lightly and calmly so that we actors can still have the energy and focus to dedicate to our art.

- After going through those difficult times, what lessons has Viet Trinh learned?

In this life, there are things called fate; at this time, at this moment, you are destined to meet someone, it's unavoidable. Therefore, I am trying to live a better life, to do less evil, and to reduce negative speech.

My grandparents used to say, "Better to lose possessions than to lose a life." It's better to lose a car and money but keep your life, because you can earn much more from that loss. But if you're lying on a pile of gold and you have a terminal illness, it's all over.

Looking back on her life, what does Viet Trinh feel she has gained and lost?

Looking back on my life, I can see that I've been fortunate, with a balance of gains and losses.

The gain was that a girl from Binh Phuoc, with hands and feet covered in mud, suddenly became famous and earned a lot of money within two years. But alongside that, there was also the loss of a lot of controversy.

After going through many ups and downs, I have nothing left now. I'm back to being myself, Tran Viet Trinh, not the famous Viet Trinh anymore.

My friends often tell me that it's exhausting to hang out with the famous Viet Trinh, so I jokingly reply, "No, you're hanging out with Tran Viet Trinh, because the famous Viet Trinh died a long time ago."

- Is there any scandalous story that Viet Trinh will always remember?

Many rumors have come my way that are quite funny. One fan messaged me saying, "I heard this story about you, I don't know if it's true, but once you got drunk and got pregnant, and you didn't know whether to keep the baby or not, so you decided to let it be born."

I don't understand how anyone could concoct such a perfect story about my child.

- How have those controversies and scandals affected you?

I once said in an interview that I have to thank life for giving me those slaps in the face because, with the envy of youth and the complacency of becoming famous too early, I learned when to stop; otherwise, it would have been very dangerous.

To get to where I am now, I've had to work very hard. I just hope that the public and the audience will allow artists to live a normal life when they're not on stage or on screen.

For example, an actor might play a role perfectly in a film, but in real life, they are also ordinary people who get angry, feel jealous, get into fights, raise their voices, and even swear.

Let artists live normal lives because they are under too much stress. Some people faint on set after filming. I say this so that the audience understands that pursuing art with passion is very tiring.

Even artists could be allowed to sit around in cafes, spreading their legs wide and laughing heartily. Surely they don't always have to sit with their legs and arms tucked in and smile politely at everyone?

Having gone through many controversies and hardships, Viet Trinh now lives a peaceful life, even though she has lost everything.

- Do you have any interesting anecdotes related to the "image on screen versus reality" phenomenon?

Let me give you an example: The Beauty of Tay Do is a very beautiful role model.

In 2012, I represented a car company at an event in Hanoi. When I arrived in Hanoi, I was wearing shorts and a tank top, sitting watching TV and eating chips, which surprised the room service girl.

That evening, I was dressed in an elegant dress when the same room service lady came running up to me and told me that when she saw me in the shorts and tank top I wore that morning, she felt devastated because the image she had always imagined of me was just like the gentle, feminine persona in the movie "The Beauty of Tay Do".

The girl said that when she got off the elevator, she was very sad and told herself that she would never be a fan of mine again.

But then, the girl and I talked, and we both agreed that I should be allowed to be true to myself; I couldn't possibly keep pretending like this forever, could I?

If the audience wants the artist to tell the story of their real life, then let them live according to their true instincts.
