Writing about Party building requires a combination of 'building and combating'.

On the morning of July 14th, the Central Organizing Committee, in coordination with the Ministry of Information and Communications, held an online conference to provide training on Party building for leaders, reporters, and editors of news agencies and media outlets in 2022. The conference connected to 63 provincial and city Party committees under the Central Committee, with the participation of nearly 1,500 trainees from central and local media agencies and related units.

Attending the conference were: Ms. Truong Thi Mai - Member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, Head of the Central Organization Department; Mr. Le Quoc Minh - Member of the Central Executive Committee of the Party, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association; and Mr. Pham Anh Tuan - Deputy Minister of Information and Communications.

In her directive speech, Comrade Truong Thi Mai - Member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, and Head of the Central Organization Department - emphasized: The work of Party building and rectification is a very important task. Every year, the "Golden Hammer and Sickle" Journalism Award is organized on a large scale, with an increasing number of entries and improving quality. This shows the great interest of agencies and the press in Party building and improving the quality of disseminating the Party's policies.

Suggesting several topics, the Head of the Central Organization Department, Truong Thi Mai, addressed issues such as: Party Secretaries not being from the local area; Manifestations of degradation, self-evolution, and self-transformation; Promoting the spirit of criticism and self-criticism; Cadre arrangement and placement; Party development in the non-state sector; Improving the quality of Party branch activities; Rotation and training of young cadres...

Comrade Truong Thi Mai affirmed that Party building is a broad topic, not easy to write about, and requires high standards. However, she hoped that media agencies would closely follow practical realities to produce more excellent and diverse articles. The works should emphasize "both building and combating." This would contribute to building an increasingly clean and strong political system; ensuring the Party's leadership methods continue to be reformed, improved in quality and effectiveness; and building a cadre of officials with the necessary capabilities, integrity, and character.

2022 marks the second year of organizing online conferences to provide training on Party building for leaders, reporters, and editors of news agencies and media outlets. At the conference, participants will receive guidance and answers to questions from experienced speakers on Party building and rectification, covering five main topics: New points on Party building in the Party's 12th Congress documents; Protecting the Party's ideological foundation and refuting distorted, false, and hostile arguments; Important contents on Party building and rectification in Central Resolutions 4 and 5 of the 13th Party Congress; Experience in selecting topics and skills in creating journalistic works on Party building; and Introducing new models and innovative, effective approaches in Party building.

This activity is part of the project "Developing Vietnamese Journalism in the period 2020-2024" aimed at enhancing the professional capacity of reporters and editors of news agencies nationwide, contributing to improving the quality of entries in the 7th National Journalism Award on Party Building "Golden Hammer and Sickle" in 2022.
