Resolution 57 of the Politburo sets the goal that by 2030, Vietnam will have an advanced, modern digital technology infrastructure with ultra-large capacity and ultra-wide bandwidth comparable to developed countries, and a nationwide 5G mobile broadband network.

Resolution 193 of the National Assembly addresses financial support for businesses to rapidly deploy 5G. Accordingly, telecommunications businesses that rapidly deploy 5G infrastructure, achieving a minimum of 20,000 base stations that are inspected and put into operation from the effective date of the Resolution (February 19th) until December 31st, will receive a 15% subsidy on equipment costs for the stations.

In October 2024, Viettel launched Vietnam's first and largest 5G network with 6,500 base stations, ensuring outdoor coverage of over 90% of the capitals of all 63 provinces and cities, industrial zones, schools, airports, seaports, etc. They also announced plans to expand coverage to district centers with high population density in 2025 and to launch several new features and products within the 5G ecosystem, such as AR/VR, SmartCall, YouTube Premium, etc.

In December 2024, Vinaphone also announced the commercialization of 5G, operating on the 3,700 - 3,800 MHz frequency band. At the end of March 2025, Mobifone officially announced the provision of commercial 5G services in Vietnam. Initially, Mobifone's 5G network will be deployed in the central areas of major provinces and cities.

Thus, most network operators have officially deployed 5G to realize nationwide 5G coverage as per Resolution 57 of the Politburo. The strong increase in user demand for 5G creates many prospects for explosive 5G development in Vietnam.
