Viettel offers 7 days of free trial of high-quality VoLTE calls
Viettel Telecommunications Corporation said it is implementing a promotional program to improve the experience of mobile voice and data services for users.
Accordingly, all Viettel mobile subscribers using phones without VoLTE feature will enjoy the following incentives to upgrade to phones that support VoLTE:
(1) Free 7-day VoLTE voice trial with 5 minutes of on-network calls/day.
(2) 500,000 VND discount when buying Samsung A05, A06, M15 with package 6V120B.
(3) Buy cheap 4G Feature phone models from only 390,000 VND/device.
This support program aims to encourage customers to switch to using 4G/5G VoLTE voice services - also one of the next steps to prepare for the complete shutdown of 2G waves in September 2026 and gradually improve the quality of telecommunications infrastructure.
Previously, in December 2023, the Ministry of Information and Communications issued Circular No. 20/2023/TT-BTTTT, stipulating that from July 1, 2024, mobile phones using E-Utra (4G) technology manufactured and imported into Vietnam must support VoLTE voice feature. This standard aims to ensure that all mobile information terminals allowed to circulate on the market meet technical standards, contributing to improving service quality and protecting consumer rights.
Why switch to VoLTE voice?
VoLTE (Voice over Long-Term Evolution) is a high-quality voice service on 4G/5G network infrastructure that allows customers to make voice calls with faster call connection time and better sound quality than regular calls on 2G/3G network infrastructure; allowing customers to make voice calls and access 4G/5G data without interruption.
At the same time, when 2G/3G waves are turned off, voice services on 2G/3G infrastructure will not be available, so it is necessary to switch to VoLTE voice to continue using voice services. Moreover, many foreign carriers have turned off 2G/3G waves, so when customers roam, they are forced to use VoLTE voice.

Regarding VoLTE voice service fees, customers do not have to pay any additional fees compared to regular voice services on 2G/3G infrastructure, and current packages are not affected and do not consume customers' data.
