(Baonghean) - With over 10 years of presence in the Nghe An market, Viettel Nghe An has increasingly affirmed its position as the telecommunications service provider with the largest infrastructure and coverage in the province, generating annual revenue of thousands of billions of VND and making a significant contribution to the state budget. In addition, the company provides employment for 2,500 workers in Nghe An and actively implements the province's social welfare policies.

With continuous effort and innovation, Viettel Nghe An consistently exceeds and comprehensively fulfills assigned targets and tasks, better meeting the ever-increasing demands for communication services; making a significant contribution to the province's economic and social development. The company has provided employment for over 2,500 local workers, while also opening up business opportunities in the telecommunications sector and increasing income for thousands of people.

The total number of service subscribers reached 1,845,267 in 2015, including: 1,806,742 mobile subscribers (59.8% of the population); 31,229 fixed-line subscribers (4% of households); and 7,296 solution subscribers (60.8% of all businesses).

In 2015, Viettel Nghe An added 95 new base stations, bringing the total network coverage to 1,290 2G stations and 901 3G stations, ensuring 2G coverage of 99.2% of the population and 3G coverage of 90%. In addition, Viettel Nghe An deployed and put into use nearly 6,500 km of fiber optic cable, bringing the number of communes with fiber optic cable to 450 out of 480 communes, reaching 94%.

In the first six months of 2016, despite facing the general difficulties of the telecommunications market, Viettel Nghe An continuously strived to achieve its set goals, with total revenue exceeding 900 billion VND and contributing over 70 billion VND to the state budget in the province.

In parallel with its business mission, as a military enterprise, Viettel Nghe An also undertakes the task of ensuring communication, serving as an A2 combat network ready to serve national defense and security. To date, Viettel's network has covered 100% of border guard posts and communes along the Vietnam-Laos border. Viettel's coverage extends to coastal and island areas, reaching distances of up to 100 km from the mainland, serving the mission requirements of border guards, coast guard, and military forces on Mat Island and Ngu Island, contributing to the protection of the nation's borders and territorial waters; and simultaneously serving the communication needs of fishermen when fishing far offshore.

2014 marked a proud milestone for Viettel Nghe An, as the unit completed the rollout of mobile network coverage in Huu Khuong commune (Tuong Duong district), the last remaining commune in Nghe An without mobile signal. Since then, Nghe An has become a province with 100% of its wards and communes covered by Viettel mobile network, fulfilling the commitment made by the Military Telecommunications Group to the province.

With the desire to integrate IT applications into every aspect of life, as it has successfully done in the telecommunications sector, Viettel Nghe An has consistently been a pioneer in providing solutions for production and business activities over the years. A series of groundbreaking IT solutions from Viettel have been implemented, significantly contributing to reducing management and operating costs and enhancing competitiveness for agencies, businesses, and administrative units.

Typical examples include: software for customs tax declaration, social insurance declaration, digital signature authentication, electronic document management software, Bulk SMS messaging system, transmission channels, video conferencing, enterprise and hospital management software, positioning systems, surveillance cameras, etc. Notably, Viettel Nghe An recently collaborated with the Nghe An Social Insurance agency to successfully implement the "Health Insurance Claims Assessment System".

Currently, relevant units are urgently completing the task of synchronizing data across the entire social insurance claims assessment system for all medical facilities. It is believed that the widespread implementation of this system will be a useful solution to help medical facilities shorten administrative procedures and payment processes, while simultaneously eliminating the overspending of the health insurance fund at the local level.

Alongside its innovative efforts in production and business, Viettel's business philosophy is "business linked with social responsibility." Since its establishment, Viettel Nghe An has always paid attention to social welfare for the people of the province. It particularly focuses on investing in education, contributing to charitable funds, and building houses for needy families, with an average annual expenditure of approximately 1 billion VND.

Over the past 10 years, Viettel Nghe An has donated nearly 70 houses of compassion, houses for comrades, and houses built with 100 dong (Vietnamese currency). In 2014 and 2015, Viettel Nghe An, in coordination with the Provincial Association for the Promotion of Learning and the Department of Education and Training, organized the awarding of 2,380 scholarships under the "For Diligent Students" program in 119 poor communes, equivalent to 2.38 billion dong. This is a meaningful program for poor children who overcome difficulties to excel in their studies, lasting for 10 years; with an annual budget of up to 1.19 billion dong.

In recent years, in addition to its annual social welfare activities, Viettel Nghe An has paid special attention to and contributed to poverty alleviation and improving the lives of people in remote and border areas. In 2015, Viettel Nghe An made its mark with a series of charitable programs for the community, with a total expenditure of nearly 60 billion VND.

Most notably, the "Joining Hands for the Community - Cattle Breeding Program to Help the Poor in Border Areas" donated a total of 3,659 breeding cows to 3,659 poor households in 6 border districts, including Thanh Chuong, Anh Son, Que Phong, Con Cuong, Tuong Duong, and Ky Son; with a total budget of nearly 55 billion VND.

In 2016, building on its success in social activities, Viettel Nghe An continued to implement programs such as: the "Bridge of Love" program, which put into use the Na Cho bridge in Cam Muon commune, Que Phong district, worth 5 billion VND; the Moi bridge in Lien Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, worth 1.9 billion VND; donated 3 houses of compassion from the "100 Dong House" program with a total value of 240 million VND; and organized the replacement and installation of flower vases at martyrs' cemeteries throughout the province, covering over 4,600 martyrs' graves.

Specifically this August, Viettel Nghe An, in coordination with the Provincial People's Committee, is implementing the program "Donating 2,000 tons of cement" to border communities, worth 2.95 billion VND. It is expected that from now until September 2016, the program will distribute the entire amount of cement to households in 15 highland communes in the districts of Thanh Chuong, Anh Son, Con Cuong, Que Phong, Tuong Duong, and Ky Son.
