With 7 data packages designed with 20% to 60% more data capacity than previous 4G packages, the new 5G data plan not only meets the needs of high-speed data users but also expands special options for sports enthusiasts and gamers, providing a more complete and optimized experience. Furthermore, offering new packages starting from just 10,000 VND/day makes it easier for customers to access and experience 5G technology at the lowest cost.

The new 5G data plan system includes two groups to meet all usage needs: an upgraded internet access plan from the previous 4G plan and a premium entertainment plan with free access to sports and games. For the internet access plan group, customers can choose the lowest-cost daily plan: 10,000 VND/day, receiving 6GB of free data; for those with higher usage needs, customers can choose the weekly plan at 70,000 VND/7 days (8GB/day), allowing users to comfortably experience super-fast 5G speeds.

In addition, the new 5G package integrates entertainment content specifically for sports enthusiasts and gamers, providing not only 5G data but also free access to premium content: free viewing of the Champions League, Premier League, and European Cups on the TV360 platform, or free data when playing Arena of Valor, along with many exclusive gift codes for gamers.

In October 2024, Viettel pioneered the launch of the first 5G network in Vietnam and introduced 11 prepaid and 8 postpaid packages for individual customers, designed with the concept that "each customer will have their own digital space, and all 5G packages include free cloud storage and TV360 4K television viewing services."

According to Viettel's records, during the recent Lunar New Year (Year of the Snake), 5G data traffic surged after Viettel launched its new 5G package with the following syntax:TET5GSend to 191. In addition, the NINE 5G postpaid plan, launched at the same time as the network's opening, has also achieved initial success with good growth and accounted for nearly 10% of Viettel's postpaid subscribers within just a few months of its market launch. Vietnam's mobile internet speeds are approaching the top 20 in the world.

The commercialization of 5G in Vietnam, marked by the launch of Viettel's 5G network in October 2024, is believed to be the reason for the surge in internet speeds in Vietnam after years of stagnation.

Specifically, according to the Speedtest Global Index ranking for January 2025 published by Ookla, the company behind the Speedtest tool, Vietnam unexpectedly jumped 15 places to rank 22nd compared to December 2024.

According to Ookla, mobile internet speeds in Vietnam increased sharply by 54%, from 86.96 Mbps in December 2024 to 134.19 Mbps. This is the highest speed recorded in Vietnam, almost double that of September 2024. This result brings Vietnam close to the top 20, ranking just behind France and Finland.
