(Baonghean) - At the "50 Best Listed Companies in Vietnam 2018" awards ceremony, selected by Forbes Vietnam and held at the end of July, Vinamilk was once again named. This is also the sixth year Vinamilk has been in the top 50, with revenue reaching VND 51,041 billion and market capitalization reaching VND 255,419 billion.

The "Top 50 Best Listed Companies" list, compiled by Forbes Vietnam, ranks companies with the best business performance based on published financial indicators, including companies listed on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HSX) and the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX).

To compile this list, Forbes Vietnam uses the Forbes (US) company ranking methodology, taking into account the specific characteristics of listed companies in Vietnam. The data used for evaluation is based on audited financial reports for five consecutive years from 2013-2017 (in cases where companies have a fiscal year ending mid-year, Forbes Vietnam uses data from the most recent accounting period).

In the quantitative round, companies were scored based on criteria such as compound annual growth rate of revenue, profit, return on equity (ROE), return on capital (ROC), and earnings per share (EPS) growth during the period 2013-2017. The quantitative calculations, using Forbes' methodology, were supported by Viet Capital Securities (VCSC). Following this, in the qualitative round, Forbes Vietnam independently assessed the company's sustainable development: brand, quality of corporate governance, sources of past profits, and prospects for sustainable growth.

With its inclusion in the list of the 50 best listed companies in Vietnam for six consecutive years, Vinamilk has affirmed its position of sustainable growth. With the 100% foreign ownership limit lifted, VNM shares continued to be sought after by both domestic and foreign investors last year. In the domestic market, Vinamilk still holds a dominant market share in powdered milk, liquid milk, yogurt, and other product lines.

Vinamilk, Vietnam's number one dairy company by revenue, currently owns 10 farms with a total dairy herd (owned and affiliated farms) of approximately 120,000 cows, and purchases about 800 tons of raw fresh milk daily. Since the beginning of 2018, Vinamilk has undertaken several notable activities, including a strategic partnership to research functional food products with Hau Giang Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company, the inauguration of the Vinamilk High-Tech Dairy Complex in Thanh Hoa, and most recently, the official production of A2 milk – one of the newest technologies in the dairy industry, previously only seen in developed markets such as Australia, New Zealand, and the US since the early 2000s.

Furthermore, with its astute business strategy and focus on investing in production technology aimed at sustainable development, Vinamilk has consistently made its mark in prestigious domestic and international rankings since the beginning of this year. In April 2018, Vinamilk was ranked for the third consecutive time as the only fast-moving consumer goods company in Vietnam to be included in Nikkei Asia Review's list of the top 300 listed companies in Asia (2016-2018). Shortly after, in May 2018, Kantar Worldpanel announced Vinamilk as the most preferred milk brand by consumers in Vietnam for four consecutive years from 2014 to the present.
With export revenue reaching approximately US$200 million in 2017, Vinamilk ranked 16th in terms of export revenue among the 225 enterprises on the "Reputable Export Enterprises" list for 2017 published by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and was also the only dairy enterprise to be selected.
These are solid steps in Vinamilk's development strategy, maintaining its position as Vietnam's number one dairy company, always pioneering in creating new products, meeting healthcare needs and creating new values for the community.
