VinFast was honored as Investor of the Year and Urban Electric Vehicle of the Year 2026 in the Indian market.
VinFast has just received two important awards from Vikatan Group in India, affirming its strategic position through its factory project in Tamil Nadu and the VF 7 electric vehicle model.
On January 31st, VinFast continued to make its mark in the Indian market when it was honored by specialized magazines within the Vikatan Group media ecosystem in two important categories: “Investor of the Year” and “Urban Electric Vehicle of the Year 2026” for the VF 7 model. This is recognition of the Vietnamese automaker's long-term commitment and strong implementation capabilities in this country.

Confirming our position as a strategic investor.
VinFast was awarded the “Investor of the Year” award at the Business Star Awards, organized by the business magazine Nanayam Vikatan. The judging panel highly praised the company's electric vehicle manufacturing complex project in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, considering it a significant milestone for the green mobility ecosystem in India.
This investment not only demonstrates VinFast's confidence in India's manufacturing potential but also contributes to the formation of a new industrial corridor, creating jobs and developing a supplier ecosystem in the southern Tamil Nadu region. The project is fully aligned with the "Make in India" initiative and global sustainable development goals.
Mr. B. Srinivasan, CEO of Vikatan Group, commented: “VinFast India represents a new generation of investors with a bold vision, impressive deployment speed, and a strong commitment to India’s growth. This is not just investment capital, but a belief in the future of sustainable mobility.”
VinFast VF 7: The optimal choice for urban transportation.
Alongside the investment award, the VinFast VF 7 model was also named "Urban Electric Vehicle of the Year" at the Motor Vikatan Awards 2026. This is a prestigious annual award from the automotive magazine Motor Vikatan to honor the best products of the year.
Experts highly praise the VF 7 for its balance between modern design language, agile handling, and superior safety standards. This electric SUV is considered perfectly suited to the unique urban traffic conditions in India, affirming VinFast's product development capabilities based on a localized approach.
Strategies for building trust in the billion-person market.
Recognition from the Vikatan Group – a leading magazine ecosystem in South India with a history dating back to 1926 – is a crucial measure helping VinFast build credibility with the local business community and consumers. Mr. Pham Sanh Chau, General Director of VinFast Asia, stated that these awards further motivate the company to accelerate the deployment and expansion of its comprehensive electric vehicle ecosystem.
This success extends VinFast's string of awards in India. Just a week earlier, the VF 6 model also won "Newcomer of the Year" and "Best Value Car of the Year" at the Auto9 Awards 2026. After a year on the market, the Vietnamese automaker is gradually building a solid position through its premium product portfolio and well-planned investment strategy, from production to charging station infrastructure and after-sales service.
