The VinFast VF 5 is currently the Vietnamese automaker's strategic model in the A+ segment SUV category, directly competing with traditional gasoline-powered rivals. First unveiled at CES 2022 (USA) and officially launched in Vietnam at the end of 2022, the VF 5 quickly attracted attention thanks to its optimized operating costs and superior safety technology.

From March 1st, 2025, VinFast officially discontinued its battery leasing policy for new electric vehicles. Instead, the company is focusing on supporting users through service renewal packages. Specifically, owners of electric vehicles with batteries will have their free battery charging policy extended for another 6 months, prolonging the period of enjoying this privilege until June 30th, 2027.

The car measures 3,965 x 1,720 x 1,580 mm (length x width x height) and has a wheelbase of 2,513 mm, allowing for agile handling on narrow streets in Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi.
The front of the car is distinguished by a V-shaped chrome strip that encircles the VinFast logo. The lighting system uses large, low-mounted halogen headlights combined with LED daytime running lights. The car is equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels featuring a powerful five-spoke design, paired with Pirelli P-Zero tires (225/40R17).

The VF 5's cabin adheres to a minimalist philosophy, eliminating most physical buttons. The centerpiece is an 8-inch touchscreen supporting a voice-controlled virtual assistant and a 4-speaker sound system. Behind the sporty three-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel is a 7-inch LCD multi-information display replacing traditional analog gauges.

The 37.23 kWh lithium battery pack provides a range of over 300 km on a single full charge (according to NEDC standards). The vehicle supports DC fast charging, allowing it to charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes.
In terms of safety, the VF 5 surpasses its competitors in the same price range thanks to its ADAS driver assistance package with features such as adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and door open warning. Other standard equipment includes 6 airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), traction control system (TCS), and hill start assist.
