VinFast has just announced impressive sales results for its new generation D-segment electric SUV. Specifically, the company recorded 12,728 orders for the VF 8 in just 8 days after launching its early deposit promotion program, which ran from May 27th to June 3rd, 2026. According to plan, the first vehicles will be delivered to customers by the end of July 2026.

With 12,728 orders in 8 days, VinFast sold an average of 1.1 new generation VF 8 vehicles per minute. The number of orders was recorded evenly across all three regions through the online website and authorized dealer network. Notably, all of these orders were non-refundable and non-cancellable.

Customers who place a deposit during this period will receive a promotional package worth 51 million VND, along with options such as a direct 10% discount on the listed price or a fixed interest rate of 5% per year for the first 3 years of installment loans. In addition, car owners will also receive free battery charging at V-Green charging stations nationwide until February 10, 2029.

Ms. Duong Thi Thu Trang, Deputy General Director of VinFast Global Sales, stated that this figure is an unprecedented record for a premium D-segment model from the company. This demonstrates that the upgrades on the new generation VF 8 have met user expectations for a smart and powerful electric vehicle.

The new electrical and electronic structure helps reduce weight by 600 kg.

The new generation VF 8 is developed based on the "Tech Fluid" design philosophy. The most important highlight lies in the completely new technology platform and electrical-electronic structure researched in-house by VinFast engineers. This improvement reduces the vehicle's weight by up to 600 kg compared to its predecessor, thereby optimizing energy efficiency and increasing maneuverability.

Technically, the vehicle is equipped with a suspension system that utilizes Frequency Selective Damping (FSD) technology and an integrated thermal management system (ITM). These technologies not only contribute to a smoother ride but also help extend the lifespan of the battery and electric motor.

Operational capabilities and safety standards

According to the announcement, the new generation VinFast VF 8 has a maximum driving range of nearly 500 km on a single full charge (according to NEDC standards). The vehicle supports fast charging technology, allowing it to be charged from 10%–70% in less than 30 minutes. This is an impressive figure that helps alleviate concerns about driving range for electric vehicle users.

In terms of safety, this D-segment SUV continues to aim for a 5-star rating from international New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) organizations. Driver assistance systems and active safety features are deeply integrated into the new platform, ensuring optimal protection for passengers in all driving conditions.
