(Baonghean.vn) - Over the past five years, clans in Quynh Luu district have donated more than 1 billion VND to the fund for the poor, contributed over 354 million VND to humanitarian and charitable funds, and built 159 new solidarity houses for poor households.

On November 25th, Quynh Luu district held a conference to summarize the five-year movement to build "Exemplary clans that self-manage security and order," from 2010 to 2015.

In Quynh Luu, over 1,700 out of 2,000 clans have established clan councils or clan leadership committees; nearly 1,761 clans have no members violating the law or involved in social vices, an increase of 116 clans; and 1,804 clans have no members violating traffic safety regulations, an increase of 125 clans compared to 2010.

The district has established 390 crime-free residential areas, free from social vices and traffic safety violations, and 406 hamlets with suggestion boxes. Descendants of various clans have discovered and provided tens of thousands of valuable pieces of information, helping the police force to promptly prevent and handle law violations, eliminate drug trafficking and use hotspots, and dismantle complex prostitution rings.

At the conference, Quynh Luu district awarded certificates of merit to 108 clans for their outstanding achievements in the movement.
