V.League takes a break for nearly 3 months; Bui Tien Dung undergoes surgery.
The league is suspended after round 11 until January 30, 2026 to make way for the national team's schedule; goalkeeper Bui Tien Dung successfully underwent anterior cruciate ligament surgery; U17 team trains in Ehime; PVF-CAND plays The Cong Viettel at 6 PM; Ninh Binh leads the league.
The V.League faces an unprecedented winter break lasting nearly three months: after Round 11 concludes on November 10th, the league will only resume on January 30th, 2026. Amidst this lull, Da Nang will be without Bui Tien Dung following a successful anterior cruciate ligament surgery; the Vietnam U17 team is warming up in Ehime; the U22 team is receiving positive feedback from defender Vo Anh Quan; the women's national team is being re-energized; and at 6 PM today, PVF-CAND will face The Cong Viettel. Ninh Binh currently leads the league table.
The V.League will take a break for nearly 3 months to make way for the national team's schedule.
According to the LPBank V-League 2025/26 organizing committee's plan, the teams will take a break after Round 11 (November 10th) and resume playing in Round 12 on January 30th, 2026. This extended break stems from the packed schedule of national team duties: the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers, the 33rd SEA Games, and the U23 Asian Championship qualifiers.
The gap in the fixture schedule presents two sides to the issue: opportunities for physical recovery and tactical adjustments, but it also tests the pace of play upon the return of the season. Teams in good form need to manage their ball control, while struggling clubs have more time to rebuild.

Goalkeeper Bui Tien Dung's surgery was successful.
Goalkeeper Bui Tien Dung has undergone surgery following a serious injury sustained during the Da Nang – The Cong Viettel match in the V.League 2025/26. MRI results revealed a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee, requiring surgery.
The surgery was successful. On her personal page, model Dianka Zakhidova – Bui Tien Dung's wife – shared photos from the hospital, showing that the 1997-born goalkeeper is in the early stages of recovery. For Da Nang, this is a personnel variable at a sensitive stage of the season; for Tien Dung personally, the recovery process will require a strict plan before his return.
Vietnam U17 team warms up in Ehime, Japan.
On the afternoon of November 7th, the Vietnam U17 team held their first training session during their more than week-long training camp in Ehime. Under the guidance of coach Cristiano Roland, the training session was of moderate intensity, focusing on physical recovery after travel and helping players adapt to the climate, pitch conditions, and time zone – small but crucial details ahead of the 2026 U17 Asian Championship qualifiers taking place in Vietnam at the end of November.
Vietnam U22: Vo Anh Quan sets his sights on SEA Games 33
Defender Vo Anh Quan expressed his desire to participate and compete for a starting spot at the 33rd SEA Games after being called up to the Vietnam U22 team for the fourth time in 2025. He shared: “I feel very happy and fortunate to be called up to the Vietnam U22 team... My goal is to perform my best, to be named in the SEA Games 33 squad, and even further, to secure a starting position.”

For youth teams, the V.League break also creates personnel space for training camps, helping the coaching staff to shape the team's framework before the regional sports games.
The Vietnamese women's team receives a morale boost.
On the afternoon of November 7th, Vice President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Tran Anh Tu visited and encouraged the women's national team after their training session at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, ahead of their training camp in Japan and the SEA Games 33 campaign in Thailand. His message emphasized the Vietnamese spirit, the desire for victory, and the determination to break their own records.
6 PM today: PVF-CAND plays against The Cong Viettel
PVF-CAND will play against The Cong Viettel at 6 PM on November 8th as part of the V-League 2025-2026 season. This is a special match as coach Thach Bao Khanh reunites with his former team – where he played and coached from 2023 onwards.
After 10 rounds, PVF-CAND is at the bottom of the table with 7 points. In this context, the match is not only about the immediate result but also a test of character for Coach Thach Bao Khanh's young team before the long break of the league.

Tactical perspective and tempo
The long winter break presents coaches with a challenge regarding tempo: maintaining match fitness through friendlies and managing workload to avoid overexertion when the league resumes. For teams chasing the top group, the stability of their squad structure and the continuity of their fitness training will determine their readiness when the ball rolls again at the end of January 2026.
