VN-Index rose more than 13 points while most stocks declined.
After one hour of trading, while most stocks on the electronic board were in the red, the VN-Index still rose by more than 13 points, mainly driven by Vingroup's group of shares.
Opening the trading session on the morning of September 7th, the market continued to rise, but red still dominated the electronic board, as the upward momentum was mainly led by Vingroup's group of stocks.
After about an hour of trading, the VN-Index still maintained a gain of over 13 points thanks to the pull from the trio of VIC, VHM, and VPL, which collectively contributed more than 13 points to the index.
Apart from the Vingroup group of stocks, the remaining sectors mostly traded in a mixed manner, with relatively narrow price fluctuations, mostly less than 1%. The banking and securities sectors, which play a pivotal role in the market, are experiencing a slight correction. Meanwhile, the steel sector performed more positively, with HPG, HSG, and NKG all rising by over 1%.
Real estate group: VIC (-1.95%), VHM (+1.73%), VRE (+2.45%), VPI (-2.4%), NVL (-2.3%), DXG (-2.12%) and KDH (-0.5%). Banking group: VPB (-0.36%), HDB (+0.74%), TCB (-0.77%), SHB (-0.83%), VCB (-1.02%) and MBB (-0.73%).
In the financial services group, VIX (-2.14%), SSI (-0.71%), HCM (+1.33%), VCI (-2.02%), VND (-0.92%) and SHS (-0.65%) were among the top performers. In the chemical group, DGC (+1.06%), PHR (+1.46%), VTZ (+0.99%), GVR (+1.11%) and DPM (-1.32%) were among the top performers.
At the close of trading, the VN-Index fell to 1,839.16 points (-0.75%) compared to the previous session. Similarly, the HNX-Index decreased by 281.11 points (-0.5%), equivalent to 1.42 points, and the UPCoM-Index decreased by 127.9 points (-0.03%), equivalent to 0.04 points.
Market liquidity reached VND 8,359.68 billion, with 323 million shares traded. Across the sector, 81 stocks rose, 214 fell, and 55 dropped to their reference price.

According to experts from Asean Securities Company, VN-Index is convincingly consolidating its short-term upward trend, closing the last trading session of the week at 1,853 points, maintaining a firm position above the MA10 and MA20 lines, along with the consensus from momentum indicators such as RSI (68) and MFI (66), showing that money flow is clearly improving and buyers are dominant.
With a long-bodied green candlestick closing near the day's high, the optimistic scenario for the next session is that the index will continue its upward momentum to test the resistance zone of 1,870-1,880 points before establishing a clearer trend.
In this context, short-term investors should prioritize buying during corrections, avoid chasing rallies, and consider taking partial profits at resistance levels. They should also focus on stock groups with unique stories, such as state divestment, market upgrades, and economic development resolutions.
