Pregnant wife devastated upon learning husband was a drug dealer.

On November 23, the Nghe An Provincial People's Court held a first-instance criminal trial to hear the case of Lang Van Trung (born in 1984), residing in Mon Son commune, Con Cuong district, on the charge of "Illegal trafficking of narcotics"
According to the investigation documents, on June 19th, Trung rode his motorbike to the Bản Đửa area in Lượng Minh commune, Tương Dương district, and met a man walking along the roadside to buy drugs. The man pointed and said, "Keep going down this road, and when you see a woman, ask her."
Trung continued for about 10km until he encountered a woman standing by the roadside, so he stopped to ask to buy drugs. The woman introduced herself as Thủy. Trung asked to buy 6 packets of methamphetamine, and Thủy quoted a price of 4.6 million dong per packet. Trung said he only had 20 million dong and asked to defer payment for the remaining amount, which the seller agreed to.

After receiving 20 million dong from Trung, Thuy walked into the forest and later returned to give Trung the drugs. Lang Van Trung took the drugs home and hid them in a milk carton under his bed, intending to sell them to anyone who wanted to buy them.
On the morning of June 22nd, a man from Hoa Son commune, Anh Son district, contacted Trung to inquire about purchasing a package of methamphetamine. Trung quoted a price of 6 million VND and arranged a time and place for delivery. When Trung arrived on his motorbike in Yen Hoa village, Hoa Son commune, he was discovered and caught red-handed by the Anh Son District Police.
On the same day, police conducted an emergency search of Trung's residence and discovered 5 packages of methamphetamine. Investigators determined that the total amount of narcotics for which Lang Van Trung is criminally liable is 116.590 grams.
At the trial, the defendant admitted to the crime. Regarding his motive, the defendant stated that he bought the drugs to sell for profit because he couldn't control himself.
The defendant stated that when the police arrived to search his house, his pregnant wife was devastated to learn of her husband's crime. He explained his difficult circumstances and that his wife had just given birth to a young child in order to request a reduced sentence.
It is known that Trung was previously sentenced to 3 years in prison in 2016 for "illegally possessing narcotics".
After considering all aspects of the case, the panel of judges sentenced Lang Van Trung to 20 years in prison for the crime of illegally trading narcotics.
