After returning home from a beauty treatment, a wife in Dak Lak was assaulted by her husband, who shoved her head into a fire in the kitchen and poured boiling water over her.

On the afternoon of October 7th, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huyen (29 years old, Buon Ma Thuot City) asked her husband, Mr. Dao The Anh (35 years old), for permission to get her eyebrows tattooed, but he refused. Thinking it was nothing serious, Ms. Huyen went to a beauty salon near her house that same afternoon.

As soon as she got home, her husband attacked her. "He dragged me into the kitchen and shoved my head into the burning stove. I tried to struggle free, but he grabbed a kettle of boiling water and poured it over my head," the wife recounted.

Ms. Huyen and her husband have been married for 8 years and have two children together. Because her husband is very jealous, conflicts frequently arise in their family life.

According to Dr. Nguyen Quang Son, Deputy Head of the Emergency Department at Dak Lak Provincial General Hospital, Ms. Huyen suffered first and second-degree burns covering 11% of her body, but her health is now stable.

The incident is currently under investigation by the police.
