Wife assaulted, husband stabs drinking buddy to death.

Upon hearing that his wife had been assaulted, Ngoc ran home, grabbed a knife, and stabbed Dung in the stomach, causing the victim to die on the way to the hospital.

On September 18th, the Dak Lak Provincial People's Court held a first-instance trial to hear the criminal case against defendant Nguyen Van Ngoc (born in 1982, residing in Ea Tu commune, Buon Ma Thuot city) for the crime of murder.

According to the indictment, at approximately 5:30 PM on April 29, 2017, Ngoc and Hoang Quang Dung (born in 1984), along with a friend, went to the house of Nguyen Thuong (born in 1974, residing in Hamlet 2, Ea Tu Commune) to drink alcohol.

At the drinking party, Ngoc and Dung got into an argument. Seeing them quarreling, Thuong immediately intervened to stop them.

At 6:30 PM that same day, Dung went home, retrieved a machete, and went to Ngoc's house. There, Dung and Lien (Ngoc's wife) had an argument which escalated into a physical altercation. At this point, Lien used her phone to call Ngoc to report the incident.

Hearing that his wife had been beaten, Ngoc rushed home. Dung and Ngoc then started fighting.

Ngoc went down to the kitchen, grabbed a knife, and ran back up to stab Dung in the stomach. Dung was rushed to the hospital but did not survive due to the severity of his injuries.

At the trial, Nguyen Van Ngoc admitted to all of his crimes. The court sentenced the defendant Nguyen Van Ngoc to 9 years in prison for murder.
