On the night of September 29th, Van Duc shared an ultrasound image of his wife Nhat Linh, announcing the happy news that they are expecting their second child. The couple has already chosen a nickname for their baby: "Khoai Tay" (Potato). This is a great motivation for Van Duc to strive in his career. The midfielder, born in 1996, is currently training with the Vietnamese national team in preparation for the third round of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
Van Duc and Nhat Linh got married in January 2020 after a few months of dating. In August of the same year, the couple welcomed their first daughter, Dau Tay (Strawberry). Nhat Linh said that Van Duc has become more mature and responsible since getting married. Besides training and playing matches, he is very diligent in helping his wife with housework and taking care of their child. The SLNA midfielder often brings joy to his wife with his wit, humor, and thoughtful and affectionate nature.
On September 13th, Van Duc was able to return home to visit his wife and children for two days. Taking advantage of this opportunity, he took his wife to pick up their new car, a Mercedes-Benz GLC, worth over 2 billion VND. The midfielder from Nghe An considered this a gift to his wife after months of continuous absence from home.

At just 25 years old, Van Duc has a solid career and is preparing to join the ranks of fathers of two in the national team. Currently, only goalkeeper Bui Tan Truong has two children in the Vietnamese national team. Center-back Bui Tien Dung will also welcome his second daughter in early 2022.
Van Duc belongs to the generation of Vietnamese players whose lives were transformed after the 2018 U23 Asian Championship in Changzhou, China. Thanks to consecutive successes under coach Park Hang-seo, he and his teammates pocketed billions of dong in prize money, becoming highly sought-after advertising faces. In May, Van Duc extended his contract with SLNA for three years, receiving a signing bonus of over 10 billion dong. This allowed him to buy a car, build a new house, and provide a comfortable life for his wife and children.
