Furthermore, the Yen Dung District Police Department received information that after the funeral for Mr. Man, Nguyen Thi Nga showed signs of confusion and fear. On March 3, the police department persuaded Nguyen Thi Nga to surrender.
On April 10, the Investigation Police Agency of Yen Dung District Police issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused and issue an order to temporarily detain Nguyen Thi Nga for the act ofkillingand has been approved by Yen Dung District People's Procuracy.
At the police station, Nguyen Thi Nga confessed: Around 3-4 p.m. on February 9, 2021 (ie 28th of the Lunar New Year), while Nga and her daughter (4 years old) were watching TV in the family's living room, Mr. Duong Xuan Man came home drunk and fell face down on the family's doorstep. Nga saw that Mr. Man's clothes were wet and dirty. Seeing that, Nga touched Mr. Man and tried to lift him up, but Mr. Man cursed and reached out to strangle Nga, but Nga pushed his hand away.
Out of anger, Nga went to get a piece of cloth about 70 cm long to tie Mr. Man's hands, then went to find clothes to change for Mr. Man. About 20 minutes later, Nga brought half a basin of water and a cloth towel to where Mr. Man was lying with the intention of washing Mr. Man's face. Nga took a pair of scissors to cut the rope that tied Mr. Man's hands. When the cloth rope was released, Mr. Man used both hands to grab Nga's hair and pulled her down, cursing Nga. Nga used her hands to push Mr. Man's hands away, then took a roll of tape to wrap around Mr. Man's mouth and head.
At this time, Mr. Man continued to curse Nga. After that, Nga submerged Mr. Man's face in the basin of water that had been brought out earlier for about 1 minute. At that time, Mr. Man opened his eyes but then closed them again. Then Nga used scissors to cut the tape on Mr. Man's mouth, changed his clothes, picked him up, put him on the bed, covered him with a blanket and took him to the neighbor's house to play.
At 10pm the same day, Nga called Mr. Man but got no answer. She approached and touched Mr. Man's limbs and felt they were cold, so she called everyone to take Mr. Man to the hospital, but Mr. Man had already died.
Currently, the Investigation Police Agency of Yen Dung District Police is continuing to investigate and consolidate documents to transfer the case file to the Investigation Police Agency of Bac Giang Provincial Police for investigation according to authority.
