Vo Hoang Yen: 'I want to get married but I'm afraid of having children'

At the age of 30, the model said she still lives a carefree life, is financially independent and does not want to be tied down with children.

- Nearly two years since leaving the catwalk to become a DJ, how has your income changed?

- DJing has a fairly high and stable income, especially if you are willing to work hard. However, I don't really need money so I perform shows in moderation. I find that DJs who play music every night, sometimes at two or three dance clubs, their creativity is easily eroded and their music lacks soul. On average, I only take on about 3-4 shows a month, the rest of the time I spend listening to music and honing my professional skills. In addition, I also take on a few fashion shows a year to help me miss my job and maintain relationships with my favorite designers.

As a famous person, and with less acting, of course my salary is more favorable. In addition, I have other sources of income such as renting houses, training models... so my economy is stable. DJing satisfies my passion for art. I am a person who always wants change and novelty, and my thinking is also very different from others. For example,The period when I was criticized for being skinny was when I felt most satisfied with my body, because I believe that models have to be thin to be beautiful.

- How do rumors about your previous personal life affect Hoang Yen now?

-When I first entered showbiz, it's true that I often played around, gathered, and danced with friends. At that time, I was young and had success too early, winning two awards in 2008 -First runner-up of Miss Universe Vietnam and Gold winner of Supermodel. However, the funny thing is that when I stopped partying, people accused me of using crystal meth. Then there was the love scandal with two men who had nothing to do with my life.

Before, I was extremely hot-tempered, once banged the table and yelled at the police during an argument.about my car accident. I also once slapped a guy in the face as a warning.Looking back, I see that I was really fierce. Later, I became less arrogant because I was afraid of making my mother sad and cry because of me. Now, if I have nothing to do, I like to stay home, grow vegetables, cook, and keep my dog ​​by my side for the past 11 years.I live a very simple life. I have thrown away most of my branded clothes. I wear whatever sponsors me (laughs). I save the money I have to invest in the future.

- When you faced a lot of gossip, how did your family react?

- My parents are business people, they don't like and don't want their children to be involved in art. I was oriented to study properly, go to work and get married. My two sisters both have master's degrees, only I make the family worry because it doesn't seem stable. In the past, my parents strongly opposed their daughter becoming a model because they were afraid that I would get involved in a scandal with a rich man. When I was determined, my mother had to accept it but still told me: "If you have difficulties, come home and I will take care of it. Absolutely do not do anything wrong because of money."

When I temporarily stopped modeling, my family was shocked when they heard that I had switched to DJing. My parents didn't understand why I always chose a complicated environment with many temptations to work (laughs).

- What do you do to build trust in your family?

- TOh, there are some rules when working as a DJ, such as not drinking alcohol offered by guests, not talking directly to guests. Anyone who has a music request must go through security to pass it to me.

My family is well-off, but I never rely on my parents and take care of everything myself. Many years ago, I bought my own house because my job requires me to leave early and come home late, so my parents have to stay up late waiting for me. If I need a little money, I borrow from my parents, not ask them, because asking for money means I am not independent. Now, my parents no longer complain about my job, they just urge me to get married quickly.

- At the age of 30, what do you think about getting married?

- I promised myself that I would consider getting married when I turned 30. However, at this age, I still feel very young and workaholic. I still love and want to get married, but the thought of having children scares me. I don't think I have enough maturity, patience and tolerance to be a mother. My mother often scolds me for this.

In the past, I also loved a few people but never thought about having children with them. That is also the reason why many of my relationships did not have a happy ending. Many women were born to be wives and mothers, they naturally fulfill those duties. Maybe I am not one of them. - What do you say about the image of Next Top models cursing and fighting?

- I can understand because I went through a time like that. Many years ago, I oftenI went to perform abroad with my colleagues and rented an apartment together. We also divided the cleaning staff, the cooking staff, and the garbage collectors like the Next Top apartment. I was very upset and did not hesitate to raise my voice when a model ate indiscriminately or called me all night, making me lose sleep.Try locking 11 normal girls in a house, cutting off all contact with the outside world for a month and see if they argue with each other?

After that noisy night, the contestants still cooperated with each other normally in the following challenges. I observed very carefully and was surprised to see that they did not seem to have fought, even when they were paired with someone they hated. - What do you feel about the young generation of models?

- Honestly, I think your catwalk is weak and ugly, you don't look energetic. To be a vedette, your steps must be "floating", your face must have spirit, you must make the audience unable to take their eyes off. When I perform, if the audience below opens their phones to type, I feel very uncomfortable, I don't know if it's because I walk badly. You have to be proud of your profession like that to not fall behind.

Modeling for international fashion weeks is not necessarily excellent. Because if you were really talented, you would have been retained by foreign companies like Bao Hoa and Xuan Lan.I am also training a model for a beauty pageant. I asked her why she was competing in this pageant when her face was more suitable for modeling. She said that the title of a beauty queen always has more influence than that of a model.
