An awkward situation at the party.
In episode 5 of the series "The Opposite Family," an ironic situation arises when Mr. Phi (Meritorious Artist Hoang Hai) has to face the harsh truth at a reunion with his former colleagues. To save face, he lied, saying his wife was managing a restaurant, but soon after caught her working as a cleaner at the very same place.
At the meeting, Mr. Phi appeared stable despite being unemployed and facing financial difficulties. When Thai, the current department head, offered support, Mr. Phi declined, boasting that he had received many job offers but wanted to rest more.
The climax came when Mr. Phi was boasting about his wife, Ms. Anh, managing a restaurant, when an unexpected incident occurred. Thai dropped a bowl, and the cleaning lady called in was none other than Ms. Anh. Both Mr. Phi and Ms. Anh were stunned to recognize each other in this awkward situation.
The economic burden and the children's understanding.
Despite Mr. Phi and Mrs. Anh's attempts to conceal it, their two children, Duong (Quynh Trang) and Duc, both realize the family's financial difficulties. Duong, a music conservatory student, proactively switched from using ride-hailing services to taking the bus to save money.
Seeing his younger sister struggling, the older brother, Duc, encouraged her to focus on her studies, leaving the money-making to him and their father. This demonstrates the maturity and understanding of the children in the face of family challenges.
