"I was only saying that Hoai Linh was going in the wrong direction, that he was lost," the king of sentimental music affirmed.

Amidst the storm of public controversy surrounding musician Vinh Sử's criticism of comedian Hoài Linh for knowing nothing about Bolero music and yet serving as a judge, the person behind the statement has spoken out to explain.

The author of "Grass Ring for You" asserts that he only said Hoai Linh was going in the wrong direction, lost his way.

Musician Vinh Sử asserted: "That's a misinterpretation by the journalist; I only said that Hoài Linh was going astray, not on the right path. No one would blame me for saying that. But words that have been altered become criticism and offend others. I believe Hoài Linh would certainly be the number one judge in comedy competitions, but judging bolero is a different matter."

The famous musician emphasized that audiences say that hundreds of thousands of Hoai Linh's Bolero songs all sound the same, and although they sometimes criticize them, they still give them a perfect 10.

Along with that, he also expressed his frustration at the existing inconsistencies, especially in programs related to Bolero music, where singers judge actors and comedians judge singing competitions. With one person after another constantly interfering, Bolero music will become flawed and cease to be a proper program.

"People like Phuong My Chi should only be guest singers, not judges for Bolero music; the audience would be shocked because they lack the expertise to evaluate it. That's the fault of the program producers," said musician Vinh Su.

Following his comments regarding his statements, the author of "Grass Ring for You" also expressed his wish for Bolero music programs to have a better, more sophisticated judging system so that viewers wouldn't feel bored by the frequent appearances of the same judge.

Despite the negative comments about him, Hoài Linh remained calm.

Previously, in an interview with a newspaper, musician Vinh Su stated that Hoai Linh knew nothing about Bolero music but was still a judge, while the comedian's singing was just average.

Immediately, the statement attracted public attention with many different and conflicting opinions. Many famous artists such as Dam Vinh Huong, Duong Trieu Vu, and musician Duc Huy spoke out in defense of Hoai Linh, while the comedian remained calm and only posted one sentence on his personal page: "A kind word warms for three winters. A cruel word chills for six months."
