One month after giving birth, a woman is in critical condition due to a grade 4 organ rupture.

(Baonghean.vn) - At 4:30 AM on March 28th, the Tan Ky District Medical Center announced that they had successfully saved a patient suffering from a ruptured spleen and posterior peritoneal hematoma.

The patient is Ms. Tang Thi Tram (38 years old), residing in Thinh Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district (Nghe An province). According to Ms. Le Thi Ngoc, Ms. Tram's family member, at 7 PM on March 27th, Ms. Tram went to the toilet behind her house and unfortunately slipped and fell, hitting her abdomen and forehead on the well wall. Ms. Tram felt dizzy and complained of abdominal pain, so her family took her to Tan Ky Medical Center for emergency treatment.

According to Dr. Vi Van Hung, Head of the Surgery Department, the district medical center received Ms. Tram in critical condition: 1,100ml of blood accumulated in her abdominal cavity, positive abdominal wall reaction; in particular, the patient had suffered quite serious blood loss.

"The doctors quickly consulted and decided to operate on the patient with a diagnosis of ruptured spleen and grade 4 liver rupture. After more than 4 hours of surgery, Ms. Tram was saved. This was a very serious case due to complex damage to multiple organs in the abdominal cavity; if not treated promptly, the patient would have died," said Dr. Hung.

It is known that patient Tram is in a very difficult situation. She gave birth just one month ago. Her husband works far away. Currently, Ms. Tram is suffering from severe anemia, but the blood supply is insufficient. The baby is crying uncontrollably from hunger, but due to the intense pain, Ms. Tram is unable to breastfeed.
