(Baonghean.vn) - Que Phong district recently organized an early Tet (Lunar New Year) celebration for the people of Nam Nhong and Tri Le communes. This is an annual activity of this district for the Mong and Khmu ethnic communities.
The early Tet (Lunar New Year) celebration took place at the Tri Le Commune People's Committee, organized for two ethnic minority communities: the Mong and the Khmu. Nam Nhoong Commune has 4 Khmu villages, while Tri Le Commune has 12. Notably, Tri Le Commune has 8 Mong villages located along the 17.5km stretch of the Vietnam-Laos border. Many villages in both communes still face transportation difficulties, and the lives of the people remain dependent on slash-and-burn agriculture.
