Early Tet celebration in Muong Que border area
(Baonghean.vn) - Que Phong district has just organized an early Tet celebration for the people of Nam Nhong and Tri Le communes. This is an annual activity of the district for the two ethnic communities of Mong and Kho Mu.
The early Tet took place at the People's Committee of Tri Le commune, organized for two ethnic minority communities: Mong and Kho Mu; in which Nam Nhoong commune has 4 Kho Mu villages, Tri Le commune has 12 villages. And especially Tri Le commune has 8 Mong villages located along the 17.5km long Vietnam - Laos border. Many villages of the two communes still have difficulties in transportation, people's lives still depend on slash-and-burn farming.

Organizing Tet early is meaningful to bring spiritual and material life to ethnic minority communities in Que Phong district. Through this, village elders, village chiefs, and prestigious people also have the opportunity to express their thoughts, wishes, or recommendations to the authorities at all levels.

On this occasion, the local government awarded 16 Certificates of Merit to village elders, village chiefs, and prestigious people in the villages. Thousands of gifts from units such as the Fatherland Front Committee, District People's Committee, Que Phong Small and Medium Enterprises Association, Economic - Defense Group 4, Tri Le Border Guard Station were delivered to Mong and Kho Mu families in the two communes.

On this occasion, there were also cultural and sports activities such as folk singing, traditional musical instrument performances, pao throwing, etc. Mong and Khmu families in the area also attended a solidarity meal at the commune headquarters.

Previously, on January 30, Que Phong district organized a Tet celebration for people in the Hua Na hydropower resettlement area in Thong Thu commune. On this occasion, units such as Thong Thu Border Guard Station, Hua Na Hydropower Joint Stock Company, and the commune government presented many gifts to people in the resettlement area. Mr. Le Van Giap - Chairman of Que Phong district People's Committee also presented 17 gifts, each worth 500,000 VND, to poor households in the Hua Na hydropower resettlement area.
