Look at the map to see where the British Isles and the South China Sea are. Do British-flagged ships often encounter problems when passing through the South China Sea? No one has said or written about it, but the UK Foreign and Defense Secretary has decided that British warships must make the long journey to the South China Sea. However, even Defense Secretary Michael Fallon has admitted that this move will surely anger Beijing. It should be added that China also supports freedom of navigation, but objects to warships from non-regional countries in waters close to its territory.

So why is Britain getting involved in the conflict in the South China Sea? To support its ally, the US, and together to deal with China.

The current situation is reminiscent of the 19th century and the colonial attempts to conquer China. The initiator was Britain, which waged two Opium Wars against China. Later, Britain, the United States and several European countries joined in the suppression of the Boxer Rebellion in Beijing in 1900.

That was when the whole world learned about the famous English song with the refrain: "Rule Britannia! Rule the waves!" The song became a symbol of British colonialism and London's great ambitions across all the world's seas and oceans.

Perhaps someone in London now wants to rule the waves of the South China Sea? Or is London being pushed by Washington to have a presence in the Asia-Pacific region, expanding the ranks of the anti-China alliance, just like at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries?

Today, in the Asia-Pacific region, Britain is preparing to play the unenviable role of a lackey of the United States. Today London is not sober enough to have an independent foreign policy. This is the 21st century, the world has changed, but as before, war can take a lot of blood and suffering from innocent people.

Could it be that someone wants to repeat the bloody pages of history? This could very easily happen, if the naval forces of different countries were concentrated in a small sea area with clearly hostile objectives against Asian countries.
