Traveled nearly 800 km to steal a safe
Tran Van Chien and Le Huu Thang twice took a bus and traveled nearly 800 km from Gia Lai to Ha Tinh, breaking into many houses to break safes and steal money and gold.
On December 13, Chien (47 years old) and Thang (44 years old) were prosecuted and detained by Thach Ha District Police (Ha Tinh) for the crime of "Theft of property", according to Article 173, Penal Code 2015.

According to the investigation, on November 5, Chien and Thang brought their motorbikes and spent nearly 2 million VND to catch a sleeper bus from Gia Lai to Thach Ha district. The two drove to the 2-story house of Mr. Nguyen Duy Hanh (residing in Thach Ha town), broke the window, broke into the safe, stole money and many gold necklaces.
After committing the crime, the two young men took the gold to Quang Binh to sell, split the money, and then took a bus back to Gia Lai. After a week, when they had spent all their money, Chien and Thang returned to Ha Tinh, continued to break into the houses of two people, and stole property.

From the victim's report, Thach Ha District Police sent detectives to investigate in many provinces and cities in the country, and on December 11, they found out the whereabouts of Chien and Thang.
Authorities allege that the property the two thieves stole in the three thefts was worth hundreds of millions of dong. In addition to the evidence, which included a motorbike with a Dak Lak license plate and a crowbar used to break the safe, the police also recovered a large amount of money, rings, and gold necklaces.
Thang has a criminal record for ""Robbery";Chien has 3 criminal records "Theft of property", just released from prison at the end of 2018.
