(Baonghean.vn) - As a locality that is always at the forefront of socio-economic development movements and has become the first commune to reach the new rural finish line in Nghia Dan district, Nghia Binh commune is also known by many people for having more than 70% of its cadres being of youth union age. This is one of the grassroots localities with the youngest cadre structure in the Western Nghe An region.

Two years of unpaid work to gain experience

The recent orange harvest season in Nghia Binh commune was considered a bumper crop, and people were excited because the oranges had both a good harvest and a good price. After the achievements of the orange growers, people did not forget to mention the contribution of a female officer of the Farmers' Association. Although she was very young, she was dedicated and concerned with each orange and grapefruit tree of the people from the time they planted the seeds until they were fully ripe.

Not only that, she also worked closely with 387 members of the Farmers' Association of Nghia Binh Commune to build many effective models of livestock breeding, cultivation and crop restructuring in recent years. That is Ms. Luong Thi Thao - the female President of the Farmers' Association of Nghia Binh Commune, born in 1990.

In particular, what makes many people admire Ms. Luong Thi Thao is her dedicated working spirit when she accepted to work for 2 years with only a small allowance to accumulate more experience.

Born into a farming family, Luong Thi Thao was familiar with farm work from a young age. Graduated with a degree in accounting from Nghe An College of Tourism and Commerce in 2010, many of her peers decided to stay in the city to work, but Thao decided to return to her hometown to start a business.

With a spirit of eagerness to learn, Thao followed the Farmers' Association members of the commune to work to gain more practical experience. At the same time, she researched more documents to accumulate knowledge. After 2 years of apprenticeship, in early 2012, Thao was accepted to work at the Farmers' Association of Nghia Binh commune and was honored to join the Party.

During this time, many models of Thao and the members of the commune developed and achieved many successes such as: models to promote the development of farms, livestock farms, converting nearly 40 hectares of ineffective farming area to citrus trees with high quality and productivity... From practical results, Thao was appointed to the position of Vice Chairman of the Farmers' Association and is now the Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Nghia Binh commune.

70% of staff are of youth union age

Not only the Chairman of the Farmers' Association is a young cadre highly appreciated for his working spirit, many other young cadres holding key positions in Nghia Binh commune in recent years have also promoted their internal strength to achieve high efficiency in their work.

Also prominent is Mr. Tran Song Thanh (born in 1983) - Head of the Military Committee of Nghia Binh commune, who is not only good at military work but has also succeeded in developing a model of fish and mussel farming combined with industrial tree planting with an area of ​​nearly 3 hectares. Each year, Mr. Thanh's farm harvests more than 1 ton of fish and 12 - 15 tons of mussels, along with revenue from more than 1 hectare of rubber trees, bringing in hundreds of millions of dong. With outstanding achievements in military work as well as economic work, last year he was honored to receive the Luong Dinh Cua award from the Central Youth Union.

Thanks to their youth and high adaptability, 22 out of 32 commune cadres are still in the age of the Youth Union (accounting for more than 70%), and they have really contributed and dedicated to the locality. In particular, 8 leading cadres of the 8X and 9X generations take on key positions in areas such as: Policy, Statistics, Office, Culture, Women's Union and Youth Union...

Talking about the local young cadres, Mr. Pham Hai (born in 1972) - Chairman of Nghia Binh Commune People's Committee shared: "Nghia Binh Commune was established in 1995, and at the end of 2011, it was split to form Nghia Dan town. After the split, the commune's cadre team was supplemented with many young cadres. Everyone has been through training, has worked in the locality for many years before the split and is supported by the majority of the people".

According to Mr. Pham Hai, the poverty rate when separated in 2011 was 4.9%, but now it has decreased to 3.63%. The average income per capita in 2011 was more than 8.2 million VND/person/year, but now it is 23.2 million VND/person/year.

In the period 2012 - 2015, after separation, the commune's economy achieved an average growth rate of 15.35%; total production value reached more than 110 billion VND.

With youth, enthusiasm and solidarity, hopefully in the coming time, Nghia Binh will not only be a bright spot of Nghia Dan but also of Western Nghe An in general.
